London Recommendations

Scroll through to see some of our favourite free events, platforms and fun activities happening over the next few months. As usual, the majority of them are London based, however we've also included a few online recommendations for you too. We hope you find them useful!

Three weeks away! We can't wait to be back at House of Vans in Waterloo for our Spring Market on Saturday 14th May. There will be lost in store including a morning workshop, t-shirt printing throughout the day, and a Mental Health talk in the afternoon. Pop it in your diary and click the photo to get your free ticket....

FREE EVENT

Pop Saturday 3rd December in your diary! We can't wait to be back at House of Vans in Waterloo for our Christmas Market. The line up is incredible and all of our makers are striving to be as eco-conscious within their businesses as possible. Alongside the market and buzzing venue, we have a few Wreath Making Workshops happening throughout the day - more to be announced soon. Click the photo to grab your free ticket via Eventbrite.

FOOD

Beijing Dumpling is our favourite restaurant in Chinatown. We've been going for years now and it never disappoints. Make sure to try the amazing fresh dumplings (the ones in soup are amazing), the spicy chilli sauce will knock you off your chair, and always turn up hungry - the portion sizes are enormous! Expect a queue at peak times as it's a popular destination.

ONLINE WORKSHOPS

Bella's life drawing classes are fabulous! If you feel like switching off, picking up a drawing implement, and being involved in a fun, inclusive and mindful online activity, you should book onto one of her sessions. Happening on multiple Tuesday evenings before Christmas. She also hosts private group sessions for all occasions.

THEATRE This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but we really enjoyed seeing 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. The casting, lighting and sound was fantastic, the tickets are affordable and the performance is great for both children and adults. I'd like to see it again soon!

GRAND OPENING

As regulars to Battersea Power Station and the surrounding areas, we are very excited for the station to open it's doors to the public after all this time. The massive redevelopment will be unveiled on Friday 14th October, so if you can make it down to the station, it'll definitely be a weekend to remember. There will be live entertainment and food trucks over 14-16th and 22nd-23rd. Curated Makers is also opening a shop inside, full of small business goodies, which we can't wait to visit.

COMMUNITY

If you're looking to meet new people and get involved in some fun activities, head over to South Socials London to join the inclusive female community. There's a Whatsapp group and two exciting socials coming up.

ART FAIR

Another Battersea plug - can you tell we're big fans! We try to visit The Affordable Art Fair every year, and it's on in the park from 20th-23rd October. We love looking at art and marvelling at the huge variety.

REUSE PROJECT

Yodomo has been on our radar for a few months, but we haven't yet managed to visit. There's a new circular hub, situated in Hackney, which aims to help stop waste by offering makers and craftspeople the opportunity to acquire free materials and fabric off-cuts for creative projects. Click the photo to find out more and become a member.

CAR BOOT SALE

The Classic Car Boot Sale is back this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday (10-6pm) at Coal Drops Yard. Beat the queues and grab your £5 ticket by clicking the image above. Shopping, classic cars, music, food, drink and dancing. This looks like a smashing event!

HALLOWEEN

We will be sharing some brilliant small businesses via Instagram to help you shop more eco-consciously this spooky season. Aren't these hand painted pumpkin garlands made by Annie at Love From Little Roo just divine? We have a feeling these will sell out soon, so click the image above to shop.
